Town of Kingston honors Council President Robert F. Jacobs at final work session

The Town of Kingston honored Council President Robert F. Jacobs with a proclamation Monday recognizing decades of civic service.
Administrator Sondra Riviello introduced the proclamation, and Mayor Jeffrey Coslett read it aloud, praising Jacobs’ years of leadership. The proclamation notes Jacobs has served on council since 2014 — including six years as council president — volunteered 20 years on the Kingston Borough Authority, served 15 years with the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority and recently served as vice president of the Hoyt Library Board of Directors. It credits Jacobs with helping to lead construction of the town’s new community pool and other neighborhood revitalization efforts.
Mayor Jeffrey Coslett called Jacobs "one of the most professional people I know" and highlighted the council president’s long-standing commitment to residents and municipal projects. Jacobs accepted the recognition and said, "I’ve been involved in Kingston for 32 years, and I’ve enjoyed every single minute of it." The crowd applauded.
The proclamation was presented Dec. 15, 2025; the council then continued its work session and proceeded to a special voting meeting.
