Library presents 2025 report; residents raise snow‑removal and truck‑traffic concerns

Elizabeth Baldwin Seidel, representing the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library, presented the borough council with a report summarizing the library’s activities and accomplishments for 2025.
During public comment, Ron Trace of 304 N Arch St said he was dissatisfied with turnaround time for shoveling in his neighborhood. Keith Walborn of 1219 Mitchell Drive reported an increase in truck traffic traveling from State Road to Mulberry Drive despite existing “Local Traffic Only” signage and asked the borough to place an additional sign on State Road ahead of the turn to Mitchell Drive and another on Mulberry Drive.
In other business, Manager Novinger and Office Administrator Martin said the Pennsylvania Municipal League will provide the borough one year of complimentary membership beginning in 2026 to give staff access to training and other resources. Councilman Bucher announced a dine‑and‑donate event to benefit the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library on Dec. 3 and said tickets for Tiny Tim’s Christmas Carol are available at the library; he also said he recently met with representatives of the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. Councilman Buhrig thanked Mayor Ritter for administering his swearing‑in.
