Bland County supervisors hold closed session on county administrator applicants, unanimously certify meeting

Chair Adam Kidd called the meeting to order and noted supervisors Keith Costello, Randy Johnson and Stephen Kelley were present. Also listed as present were County Attorney Paul Cassell and Board Secretary Linda Miller.
Randy Johnson moved that the board go into executive session "to discuss personnel matters: associated with the County Administrator applicants, pursuant to 2.2-3711-A paragraph 1 of the Code of Virginia." The motion was seconded by Keith Costello and recorded as passing unanimously. The board then met in closed session to discuss the personnel matter described in the motion.
After the executive session concluded, Stephen Kelley moved and Randy Johnson seconded to return to regular session; the motion passed unanimously. The board then moved to adopt the statutorily required certification of the closed meeting under Virginia Code § 2.2-3712. Keith Costello moved to adopt the certification and Randy Johnson seconded; a roll-call vote recorded Mr. Costello, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Kelley and Mr. Kidd each voting "yea." The motion passed unanimously.
The board recessed the meeting and scheduled the next session for Feb. 6, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Bland County Courthouse. The minutes list Eric Workman as Clerk of the Board in the meeting record.
