Bland County supervisors enter executive session on county administrator applicants, certify closed meeting

The Bland County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Feb. 10 to enter an executive session to discuss personnel matters related to the county administrator applicant review and contract during a continued meeting at the Bland County Courthouse in Bland, Virginia.
Board member Keith Costello moved that the board go into closed session under Va. Code § 2.2-3711(A)(1) to discuss personnel associated with the county administrator applicant review and contract. Board member Randy Johnson seconded the motion, which the board passed unanimously.
After the closed session the board returned to open session on a motion by Board member Randy Johnson, seconded by Keith Costello; that motion also passed unanimously. The board then adopted a Certification of Executive Meeting under Va. Code § 2.2-3712 on a motion by Keith Costello, seconded by Stephen Kelley. The clerk recorded roll-call votes of Costello, Kelley, Johnson and Chairman Adam Kidd as "yea."
Board member Stephen Kelley moved to adjourn the meeting; Keith Costello seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Present at the meeting were Chairman Adam Kidd, board members Keith Costello, Randy Johnson and Stephen Kelley; County Attorney Paul Cassell; and Board Secretary Linda Miller.
