The Bland County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously April 12 to add a full-time position at the Bland County Public Library.
Supervisor Stephen Kelley moved to add the position; Supervisor Randy Johnson seconded. Chairman Adam Kidd recorded a roll-call vote with Kelley, Johnson and Kidd voting yea. The motion passed unanimously, authorizing the library staffing increase for FY24.
The approval came during the board's continued meeting at the Bland County Courthouse. The meeting began at 3:00 p.m., with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Chairman Kidd and an invocation offered by Assistant County Administrator Cameron Burton.
Also on the agenda, the board approved the April 12 meeting agenda by unanimous voice vote after Kelley moved and Johnson seconded. The board recessed at the close of business and scheduled a Budget Work Session for April 19, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at the courthouse.
