Board approves energy-assessment contract with ABM despite supervisor's concern over unknown total cost

Ms. Chrissy Sherriff of ABM Building Solutions presented a proposal to assess county facilities and prepare options to fund upgrades through energy savings and revenue enhancements, using ARPA funds where appropriate. Administrator Gee said the county attorney reviewed the contract and suggested revisions.
Sherriff said she could not provide a bottom-line cost until the assessment was complete and options chosen. Supervisor Robert Zava said he "would not vote for something, when I do not have a total cost to base it on." The Board approved the contract with six supervisors voting yes and Supervisor Zava voting no.
Administrator Gee said she wanted to proceed while ARPA funds remained available to fund potential projects. The assessment will produce options and cost estimates for the Board to consider before committing to any construction work.
