VDOT recommends four roads be added to Lunenburg's Secondary Six Year Plan; public hearing requested

VDOT reported Hardy Road work, rural-rustic projects and proposed adding Hill Top, Hinkle, Bragg and Trailer Park roads to year six of the Secondary Six Year Plan at an estimated $928,500 to pave 4.61 miles; a public hearing was requested for May.
Kevin Smith, the county's VDOT representative, told the Board contractors have been working on countywide litter control, Hardy Road reconstruction is progressing toward an end-of-April opening, and rural-rustic projects should be complete by July 1. Smith said he and county staff reviewed the Secondary Six Year Plan and identified four routes'Hill Top Road, Hinkle Road, Bragg Road and Trailer Park Road'to add in the last year of the plan. He estimated construction costs at approximately $928,500 to pave about 4.61 miles and requested a public hearing at the May meeting to consider the additions.
Supervisor Mike Hankins noted the selection committee tried to spread work throughout the county. No formal vote was taken at this meeting; a public hearing was requested.
