Resident warns supervisors about heavy truck traffic on Mecklenburg Street

Ms. Marilyn Jones of Mecklenburg Street told the Board of Supervisors during public comment on July 13 that heavy truck traffic on Mecklenburg Avenue and Mecklenburg Street is dangerous, especially with children outside for summer and no sidewalk in the area.
Jones said she has not seen traffic like it before and fears someone may be injured. Supervisor Mike Hankins recommended asking the Sheriff’s Office and the Victoria Police Department to monitor the stretch of road and report back on the number of violations observed during a set period.
