Fair Board President Courtney Tauriainen asked the committee to allow two "bump and run" fundraisers — March 14 at 2 p.m. and a tentative June 6 at 6 p.m. — with proceeds to pay for concrete in the sheep and goat barns; she said there would be no cost to the county. On camping during fair week, staff said temporary permits for an extra 1–19 rustic sites have been used previously, but the committee heard concerns about unauthorized power hookups and fire pits. Commissioner Travis Konarzewski moved, and Commissioner Brenda Fournier supported, tabling action and directing staff to bring a formal protocol to the full board so all parties can agree on rules for temporary camping.
Maintenance Superintendent Nick Akins provided an update on upcoming county projects and said renovations to the Howard Male Conference Room will be completed in stages to avoid disrupting scheduled meetings. Akins also listed other planned work on a wall in the Treasurer’s Office, IT department renovations, the Merchant’s Building, courthouse steps and additional courthouse offices.
