IT director proposes moving media room into IT office; commissioners raise access concerns

IT Director Logan Kemp asked the Facilities Committee to add the media room space to the IT office to provide more room for staff and future expansion.
Several committee members expressed concern that relocating or repurposing the media room would reduce available space used by commissioners, county attorneys and other meeting participants. Chair Todd Britton said he will meet with Maintenance Superintendent Nick Akins to review the proposed layout and provide additional information at next week’s full board meeting.
No formal motion was made; the item will be carried forward to the full-board agenda with a staff follow-up and an updated layout from maintenance.
