The Alpena County Central Dispatch Committee voted on several policy changes and administrative items during its Jan. 15 meeting in the Howard Male Conference Room.
The committee approved an updated Cancellation of Law Enforcement Call Policy after Director Kim Elkie told members that changes recommended in October were EMS-related and that the policy title needed clarification to reflect its law-enforcement focus. Rory Sherwood moved to approve the policy, with Anthony Utt supporting; the motion carried.
Members also voted to delete the "Calls Received At Law Agency or Secondary PSAP" policy. Erik Smith moved for deletion with support from Rory Sherwood; the motion carried.
The committee approved the Dispatch of Ambulance policy as amended following discussion. Andy Marceau moved to approve the amended policy, Rory Sherwood supported, and the motion carried. The Telephone Problems policy and the Cancellation/Downgrade of EMS Units policy were likewise approved as amended after motions by Rory Sherwood (supported by Eric Hamp for Telephone Problems, and by Andy Marceau for the EMS units policy).
