After clarifying language with Council Attorney Mike Summers, Councilman Richard Gerdon moved to adopt ordinance 2025-07 pending corrections; Councilman Joe Kellum seconded the motion. The council voted 6 ayes and 0 nays to adopt the ordinance.
Shickles also presented three funding requests from the county share of the riverboat fund: $17,900 to replace the Battle Park sidewalk with an ADA-accessible concrete walkway, $76,871 for a new service truck to replace a 1995 Dodge and a 2013 F-250 with worsening mechanical issues, and $20,000 to restock concession supplies from the parks & recreation fund. At the meeting he later provided an updated quote showing the truck could come in at $67,356.
The council recorded the requests for later action; the minutes do not show a vote on the sidewalk, truck or concession supply requests during this meeting. The parks ordinance (2025-07) was adopted subject to the corrections mentioned at the meeting.
