The Mayor and Board of Aldermen/women of Canton met in a special called session June 24, 2024, and approved a recreation budget amendment and an invoice from Blue Ridge Planning, the board said.
Alderwoman Mull called the meeting to order at 2:32 p.m. in Canton Town Hall. Finance Officer Walker presented a proposed amendment to the town’s recreation budget; Alderman Hamlett moved to approve the amendment as presented and Alderman Shepard seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Walker then presented an invoice from Blue Ridge Planning for the board’s review. Alderman Hamlett moved to approve the invoice as presented; Alderwoman Proctor seconded and the board voted unanimously to pay the invoice.
The transcript and minutes do not specify dollar amounts for either the budget amendment or the Blue Ridge Planning invoice. Finance Officer Walker and Recreation Director Dunbar were listed as present for the meeting. With no additional business, Alderwoman Mull adjourned the meeting at 2:38 p.m. The board announced its next scheduled meeting for Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at Town Hall, 85 Summer Street.
