During the Dec. 2 meeting, the Dubois County Board of Commissioners handled several routine administrative matters and approved a slate of 2025 appointments.
Auditor Sandra L. Morton presented a list of county items to be declared surplus or junk, including server components, keyboards, laptops, office furniture, a prosecutor’s microwave and other items; the board voted to declare the listed items surplus. The board approved a 2025 maintenance agreement for the Recorder’s office with CSI-Computer Systems, Inc. for $11,783 and authorized Recorder Jackie McPherron to sign the contract on behalf of the county.
Highway annual bid recommendations for 2025 materials and supplies—covering culverts, polyethylene pipe, geotextile, ready-mix concrete, asphalt, hot mix and quarry stone—were presented by Highway Engineer Brent Wendholt. The board voted to approve the recommendations as presented.
The commissioners read and approved a list of appointments for 2025 across boards and commissions (including 4-H Council, Airport Authority, Alcohol Beverage Commission, regional planning and public-safety advisory groups). The motion to approve the appointments carried unanimously.
Commissioner Chad A. Blessinger presented a 30-year service award to Auditor Sandy Morton. The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Dec. 16, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.
