Dubois County commissioners adopt two corrective ordinances to fix clerical errors

The Dubois County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted two corrective ordinances during its Dec. 2 meeting in Jasper.
County Attorney Gregory S. Schnarr told the board that Exhibit A to Ordinance No. 2024-12 (County Contract Requirements) contained a clerical error in the "Termination Clause." The board approved Ordinance 2024-17 to replace the termination-clause language in Exhibit A; the action was carried by unanimous vote. The adopted language clarifies the county’s authority to terminate agreements and limits compensation to completion of properly performed work prior to the effective date of termination.
Schnarr also reported a separate clerical error in the county’s commercial solar energy ordinance, where the abbreviation “CSC System” was used throughout instead of the defined term “CSE System.” The board approved Ordinance 2024-18 to amend Ordinance No. 2022-12 and replace “CSC System” with “CSE System” across the codified sections.
Both ordinances were presented and approved without recorded dissents. The ordinances take effect following their passage and completion of any other legal requirements.
