Dubois County creates new nursing post and two community health worker positions tied to HFI funding

Health Department Administrative Director Shawn Werner requested the full-time nurse position with wage classification PAT IV; commissioners moved, seconded and unanimously carried the motion. Werner told the commission the position "will remain in effect as long as Health First Indiana (HFI) funding is available." (minutes)
Werner also requested two part-time community health worker positions to work up to 28 hours per week. The commission approved creating the positions with a wage classification of COMOT II and recorded that the positions will exist while HFI funding continues.
The minutes do not provide headcount projections for caseloads, specific benefit costs, or the budget line items that will fund ongoing wages and benefits beyond the referenced HFI support. Commissioners recorded unanimous approval for both motions.
