Fulton County adopts 2026 budget with no tax increase

Fulton County commissioners unanimously adopted the county's 2026 budget and approved the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution for fiscal year 2026 during a Dec. 30 meeting, voting to keep property tax rates unchanged.
Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed and Chief Financial Officer Mike Lamb presented the proposed spending plan; Reed said there were "no changes" to the budget since its public advertisement. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget and the board voted all in favor.
The board also approved Resolution 8 of 2025, the formal Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution, on a motion by Commissioner Hervey P. Hann. The meeting record shows unanimous support from the three commissioners present: Randy H. Bunch, Steven L. Wible and Hervey P. Hann.
Other financial items approved during the meeting included the December 2025 pension report, presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston, and account payables dated Dec. 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87 (Fund 100—General Fund: $98,764.92; Fund 400—Debt Service: $14,148.95).
The commissioners noted that Keller Engineer, Inc. will be retained for engineering services in fiscal year 2026 and will be formally appointed at the county's reorganizational meeting on Jan. 6, 2026. The meeting record shows no dissent and no tax increase was adopted as part of the budget action.
