Fulton County commissioners adopt 2026 bylaws, confirm reappointments and set committee assignments

The board confirmed reappointments intended to stagger terms on the Bedford Fulton Joint Recreation Authority (Eric Weisbrod to Jan. 1, 2029; Paul Johnston to Jan. 6, 2030; Greg Henry to Jan. 5, 2031). Commissioners also approved a slate of 2026 reappointments and designations including Solicitor Jim Stein & DSS Law; Chief Clerk Stacey M. Shives; Tax Claim Bureau Director Amy Bishop; Chief Assessor Melissa Gordon; Sealer of Weights & Measures (Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture); Director of Veterans' Affairs Richard Newman; and county engineers Keller Engineers and CES Engineering.
Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to reappoint Amy Bishop as Interim County Treasurer for 2026; that motion carried. The board also designated committee and board assignments for 2026 (permanent Salary Board membership, Retirement Board membership, Assessment Appeals Board, and representatives to regional agencies and task forces); the full list is recorded in the meeting minutes.
The board approved an RBA invoice for $7,957.31 and appointed Michael Beatty as chairman of the Farmland Agricultural Land Preservation Board for 2026. The commissioners held separate annual reorganizational meetings for the Salary and Retirement Boards at 9:00 a.m.; separate minutes were filed.
