Grant County Water Resource District elects 2026 officers, retains Christensen as president

At its Jan. 19 meeting in Elgin, the Grant County Water Resource District unanimously reappointed Jerald Christensen as president, named Harold Gaugler vice president and appointed Julie Levorsen as secretary/treasurer for 2026.
Chairman Jerald Christensen called the Grant County Water Resource District to order on Jan. 19, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in Elgin, and the board conducted its annual elections for 2026 officers.
The board cast a unanimous ballot to retain Jerald Christensen as president after Director Steven Schadler nominated him and moved to close nominations; Director Harold Gaugler seconded the motion, which the board carried. Director Steven Schadler then nominated Harold Gaugler for vice president; Steven moved to cease nominations and cast a unanimous ballot, and Chairman Jerald Christensen seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Director Steven Schadler moved to appoint Secretary/Treasurer Julie Levorsen as the district’s Secretary/Treasurer for 2026; Director Harold Gaugler seconded the motion and it carried.
The temporary transfer of the chair to Secretary/Treasurer Levorsen to conduct elections and the subsequent resumption of the chair by Christensen were recorded in the meeting minutes. No contested races or roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the minutes; motions were recorded as carried by unanimous ballot or "motion carried."
