Grant County WRD hears Raleigh Reservoir update; preliminary repair estimate about $40,000

Chairman Jerald Christensen told the Grant County Water Resource District on Dec. 16 that Southwest Water service at Raleigh Reservoir and Sheep Creek has been turned off for the season and that he discussed joint repair work at Raleigh with a State Water Commission representative.
Christensen said the repair was preliminarily estimated to cost about $40,000 and that "some cost share" may be available; the minutes state "more details coming." He also reported fall dirt work and tree trimming at Raleigh, said fall camping during deer season had gone well, and noted that the vault toilets at the site will need pumping in the spring.
The board did not take a formal vote on a repair contract or funding at the meeting; the minutes record the update as informational and say additional details from the State Water Commission are expected before any formal action.
