The Morton County Commission unanimously approved a series of property tax abatements and recorded $1,193,619.44 in county expenditures at its April 23 meeting in Mandan. Chair Nathan Boehm and commissioners convened the meeting at 5:30 p.m.
Commissioner Morrell moved and Commissioner Leingang seconded approval of abatement #6567; the motion carried with all commissioners voting aye. The commission then approved additional abatements in batches: #6565–6566, #6568–6569, #6570, #6571–6572, #6573–6574, #6575 and #6576; motions to approve those abatements were made and seconded by Commissioners Buckley, Morrell and Leingang as noted in the record and all motions carried unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting Commissioner Buckley moved and Commissioner Morrell seconded to approve the April 11, 2024 regular meeting minutes with a correction; that motion carried. Commissioner Zachmeier moved and Commissioner Buckley seconded to approve bills and payroll; on a roll call Leingang, Morrell, Zachmeier, Buckley and Boehm voted aye and the motion carried. Auditor Dawn R Rhone entered into the record that the total of all county funds expended from April 12, 2024 through April 23, 2024 equals $1,193,619.44 and noted a detailed list of checks is available for public inspection at the Morton County Auditor’s Office during regular business hours.
The meeting adjourned at 7:04 p.m. after Commissioner Buckley moved and Commissioner Morrell seconded to adjourn; the motion carried.
