Ellsworth County commission approves payroll, payments, abatement and employee holiday schedule

At its Jan. 5, 2026 meeting, the Ellsworth County Commission approved routine financial and administrative matters, voting unanimously on payroll, accounts payable, an abatement and the 2026 holiday schedule.
Commissioner Gregory C. Bender moved to approve the December payroll of $331,134.63; Commissioner Shawn Thomas seconded and the motion carried 3-0. Commissioner Thomas then moved to approve December accounts payable of $316,936.90 plus prewritten warrants of $270,990.63, for a grand total of $587,927.53; Commissioner Dennis L. Rolfs seconded and the motion carried 3-0. Commissioner Thomas moved to approve abatement 2025-57 for $116.34; Commissioner Bender seconded and the motion carried 3-0. Thomas also moved to adopt the 2026 holiday schedule for Ellsworth County employees; Commissioner Bender seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 10:04 a.m. after the business was completed; minutes were signed by Shelly D. Vopat, Ellsworth County Clerk.
