The Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) board in Crawford County heard staffing and operations updates at its May 27, 2025 meeting. Director Nicole Baumeister reported that employee Pam Castillo gave notice for the Route 4 home-delivered meals position and that an interview is scheduled to fill the role. Russell Atkinson agreed to provide temporary coverage and will be trained on Route 4; Scot Swinton was hired as a part-time transportation driver.
Jacob Schneider distributed the operations report and summarized year-to-date activity for home-delivered meals, congregate dining and transportation programs. Nicole Baumeister briefed the board on caregiver program activity, Information & Assistance contacts, and Elder Benefit Specialist data. A PALS class recently concluded with eight participants completing the course. Justin from Sustainable kitchens is scheduled to tour the ADRC kitchen and Prairie meal site later this week.
Board members discussed interest in expanding health-promotion classes; Nicole said staff will meet with Kelly Beutow to explore additional offerings. Baumeister said she will attend ADRC Connect and ADPAW meetings and noted a June 11 "Here for You" presentation at the UW Extension office.
On staffing, Baumeister said job postings are posted on Indeed and Facebook and that an interview is scheduled for the Route 4 replacement. The board confirmed interim coverage arrangements and the hire of Swinton as a part-time driver.
The board also discussed program reporting challenges at the regional level, including combining WellSky data, and the regional board’s request for client stories to share with legislators. Baumeister said the state budget currently appears stable but flagged possible federal cuts that could affect some programs.
The meeting record shows the board approved the May invoices and other routine items; the review of proposed transportation fees and reimbursements was tabled to a future meeting so members could study comparative data.
The board set its next meeting for June 24, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in Room 125 of the County Administration Building.
