David Moeller, chief executive officer of the Northwest Georgia College and Career Academy, told the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners on May 13 that the academy's First Responders and Fire Academy allows high school students to complete firefighter certification before graduation.
Moeller thanked the board for partnering on the program and said the academy hopes to expand participation with additional school systems and local fire departments across North Georgia. The presentation was a brief recognition and informational update; no board action was required or taken on the academy's request at the meeting.
