DALTON, Ga. — The Whitfield County Board of Commissioners approved the meeting agenda and moved into an executive session to discuss personnel at a special-called meeting on Sept. 3, 2024, at 5 p.m. in the county administrative offices at 201 S. Hamilton St.
Chairman Jevin Jensen called the meeting to order and led the pledge of allegiance. Commissioner Barry W. Robbins moved to approve the agenda as presented; Commissioner John Thomas seconded. The minutes record that the motion was approved 4-0, with Commissioners Greg Jones, John Thomas, Barry W. Robbins and Robby Staten noted as voting in favor.
The board then voted to enter an executive session to discuss personnel. Commissioner Robbins again moved the motion; Commissioner Greg Jones seconded. The minutes record that the motion to go into executive session was approved 4-0, with Commissioners Thomas, Robbins, Staten and Jones recorded as in agreement. The minutes state that those present during the executive session included Chairman Jevin Jensen; Commissioners Robbins, Thomas, Jones and Staten; County Attorney Robert Smalley; and Human Resources Director Jackie Carlo. The stated subject of the executive session was personnel.
After the executive session, Commissioner Greg Jones moved and Commissioner Robbins seconded a motion to come out of executive session. That motion was recorded as approved 4-0 in the minutes, listing Commissioners Thomas, Robbins, Staten and Jones as in agreement. The meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent. The printed minutes bear the signatures of Chairman Jevin Jensen and County Clerk Blanca Cardona.
