During the Coffee County Board of Commissioners special called meeting April 13, 2022, County Administrator Wesley Vickers presented two bids for two 14-foot dump trucks for the Road Department: Worldwide Equipment submitted two Mack MD6 trucks for $220,938.00; Rush Truck Center submitted two International MV607 trucks for $195,310.48. Both vehicles include a Cummins engine, Allison 2500 transmission, a separate engine warranty and a 24-month unlimited warranty on the truck.
Commissioner Johnny Wayne Jowers moved to accept the low bid from Rush Truck Center for $195,310.48; Commissioner Oscar Paulk seconded and the board unanimously approved the purchase. The purchase had been tabled at the previous meeting pending additional information; administrators presented specifications and warranty details and asked for a decision at this meeting.
Procurement and the Road Department will complete the purchase and arrange delivery and deployment of the trucks to county crews.
