Resident raises accessibility concerns for Fayette County library community room; county to evaluate curb cut and signage

During public comment at the March 14 meeting, Laura Line of Fayetteville told the Board of Commissioners she was concerned about the lack of handicap ramp access to the library community room where voting is held and said the issue "needed to be addressed." The comment appeared under the public comment portion of the meeting.
County Administrator Steve Rapson responded in the Administrator’s Reports saying staff would evaluate a curb cut and potentially provide a handicap access point, but that several factors needed review. Rapson said there is a way to enter the room safely through the main building entrance and that he had asked staff to develop signage to direct residents to that access while staff studies permanent options.
No formal action was taken at the meeting; staff indicated they would review options and report back.
