County Administrator Steve Rapson told commissioners that Animal Control received certificates of occupancy and that the facility’s grand opening was scheduled for April 11 (staff event) with a community ceremony April 13. Rapson reviewed 'Hot Projects' including the Parks and Recreation multi-use facility, Redwine Road multi-use path and roundabout projects, Coastline Bridge improvements and water-system updates, and said he circulated a complete tunnel-project update to the Board.
Rapson also noted staff certifications through ACCG for several employees and shared third-party rankings showing Fayette County placed highly in statewide lists for family-friendliness and public schools. He alerted the Board to AT&T boring activity on Veterans Parkway and requested two commissioners to serve on a selection committee for the McIntosh Trail Service Board.
