At its Feb. 12 meeting, the Charles Mix County Board approved a series of routine administrative items including the Plat of Kokesh Tract 2 (SE1/4 NE1/4 Section 33, T95N, R63W, Lawrence Township), accepted the Auditor’s Account with Treasurer and the Treasurer’s monthly report (ending balance $7,161,763.43), and approved bills and payroll as presented.
The Register of Deeds statement of fees for January 2026 in the amount of $8,712.00 was accepted. Commissioners also approved travel to the SOR Conference in Deadwood for staff travel requests on a motion by Commissioner Nick Stotz with a second from Vice Chairman Kory Standy.
The board entered executive session at 11:16 a.m. under SDCL 1-25-2 to discuss personnel matters with State's Attorney Steve Cotton and Auditor Jason Gant present; they exited executive session at 11:40 a.m. and reported no action taken. The meeting adjourned at 11:45 a.m., and the board scheduled its next regular sessions for Feb. 19 and March 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the courthouse.
