The OAT totals $59,573.28 and includes revisions to the pumping system to accommodate existing utilities. The Commission directed that the funds come from the construction contingency and approved the transfer by a 5‑0 roll call vote (motion by Karsky; seconded by Beninga).
Carol Muller, the commission administrative officer, said the change order is intended to provide remediation in the event of heavy rainfall and to protect the north frontage. The minutes state the additional cost will be charged to the project’s construction contingency. No alternate funding source was proposed during the meeting.
The Commission recorded the approval in the minutes and the OAT will be processed as part of the ongoing jail expansion contract administration. The approval does not change the project scope beyond the documented drainage and pumping revisions; staff and the contractor will implement the work under the existing contract.
