County raises highway access permit fees in resolution MC20-74

Minnehaha County Highway Superintendent DJ Buthe presented Resolution MC20-74, which revises Resolution MC12-73 and adjusts the fee schedule for Highway Access Permits.
The new fees adopted were: Temporary Access Permit $25; Farm Field Access Permit $55; Residential Access Permit $80; Commercial/Industrial Access Permit $175; and Improve Existing Access Permit $25. Buthe told commissioners that the number of access permits processed has risen from 14 in 2012 to 23 in 2020, and the adjustments are intended to keep pace with rising service costs. Fees collected will be deposited into the County Highway and Bridge Fund.
The Commission approved the resolution by unanimous roll call.
