According to the agreements presented, each structure has an estimated combined design and construction cost of $445,000. Federal funding will cover 81.95% of eligible costs; Minnehaha County is responsible for the remaining 18.05% and for ineligible costs, which may include right-of-way acquisition, utility relocations, roadway surfacing, fencing, offsite mitigation and monitoring.
The Commission authorized the vice chair to sign both agreements by unanimous roll call votes. The approvals allow the county to proceed with state-managed project delivery under the stated county cost-share terms.
The actions carry standard caveats that ineligible items remain the county’s obligation and that state funds will be applied as outlined in the agreements.
