Lipscomb County's treasurer reported Dec. 31, 2025 holdings of $7,645,784.98 and fiscal-year-to-date interest of $77,310.10, and the Commissioners' Court approved a set of routine administrative actions, including employee handbook updates, a pauper burial policy, and using Purple Wave to auction surplus equipment.
Treasurer Kimberly Long presented detailed balances for the general fund, two certificates of deposit at FirstBank Southwest, an ICS money-market account, and several special accounts. The minutes list CD and account balances (for example, CD #1 balance of $637,279.63 and CD #2 balance of $640,313.48) and record December interest earned of $27,330.22. The court acknowledged and certified the treasurer’s report.
Commissioners discussed purchasing a CD at FirstBank Southwest from the general fund and reviewed current CD rates but took no action. Clerk Chrissy Dunn advised she would not purchase CivicPlus software for agenda and minutes management. The court approved employee handbook changes clarifying leave use and procedures for office closures, and it approved a pauper policy that provides for direct cremation (cremains returned to family in a standard urn) or immediate burial with a 20-gauge non-sealer casket and county-provided grave and five death certificates; the court authorized accepting bids for pauper burials.
The court also approved the 2026 primary election order and unanimously approved the use of Purple Wave to auction county surplus equipment. Other administrative and operational items discussed included an update on county roads, a tabled discussion of solar radar speed-limit signs pending additional information, and a planned survey before accepting a donation of easement for County Road 31. The court set a special meeting for Jan. 26, 2026 at 1:30 p.m.
