Court approves undercrossing and electric-line notifications; road fees and chip-seal bids deferred
Summary
The court approved a permit for a road undercrossing by ET Gathering & Processing LLC and a notification to construct an overhead electric line by North Plains Electric Cooperative. On Feb. 9 the Lipscomb County Commissioners Court approved a permit to construct a road undercrossing for ET Gathering & Processing LLC and approved a notification to construct an overhead electric line by North Plains Electric Cooperative; both motions were recorded as unanimous.
The court tabled setting a fee for road undercrossings or overhead-line crossings for a later meeting. Commissioners discussed taking rock bids for chip-seal projects but determined no action was necessary at this time; Ashley Schoenhals will oversee chip-seal projects in the precincts and County Judge Dori Roots will coordinate with Valero about material readiness.
The court also discussed installing solar-powered radar speed-limit signs and noted coordination with TxDOT's Panhandle District Engineer and the need for a traffic study; trailer-mounted radar signs were identified as a potentially more useful mobile option.
Separately, the court discussed a donated easement from Louise Landers for possible use as county road under Texas Local Government Code §81.032, but Youree Surveying had not completed the required survey.
