Sheriff reports January activity, $8,000 pickup repairs; court approves dispatcher bond

Sheriff Ben Eggleston reported to the Commissioners Court on Feb. 9 that his office handled a range of incidents in January including reckless-driver reports (78), traffic stops, a burglary, a missing-person case and juvenile and CPS transports.
Eggleston said the sheriff's office is moving to black shirts and tan pants for a more professional appearance. He reported the department's blue pickup required transmission repairs and a radiator-leak repair, with costs totaling $8,000; when Commissioner Scotty Schilling asked that the repair shop be placed on the record, Eggleston identified Delo's in Follett as the shop that handled the work.
The court unanimously approved the bond for Bethany Purcell for the dispatch/jailer position during the meeting.
