Rawlins County Fair Board asks commissioners for $40,000 allocation for 2027 exhibit-hall upgrades

Aaron Sis, a member of the Rawlins County Fair Board, presented the board’s 2025 review and introduced the 2026 membership and officers, including President Zac Chubb, Vice‑President Connor Beims, Treasurer Ann Domsch and Secretary Wanda Poore. Sis described recent grant-funded purchases—chairs and tables and arena-panel lower kick plates built by 7K to mitigate blowing sand—and outlined plans to apply for additional grant funding to update exhibit-hall space and add storage and shelving to better use existing space.
Sis told commissioners the board is exploring additional events throughout the year to increase public interest. He requested that the commissioners plan for a $40,000 allocation in the 2027 county budget to support those efforts. The board indicated no alcohol permits are planned for current events.
Commissioners did not take a formal vote on the funding request during the meeting; the request was submitted for consideration in next year’s budget planning cycle.
