Durham commissioners approve $1.7M in ARPA funds for New Slater Road lift station

Commissioner Heidi Carter moved to suspend the rules and then moved approval of the amendment; Commissioner Wendy Jacobs seconded both motions and each carried unanimously. The Board also authorized pre-construction services with Crowder Construction Company for $1,615,879 and authorized the county manager to execute the contract and related amendments not to exceed $1,696,670.
The amendment funds will be applied to the SE066 capital project for the lift station and associated conveyance work. County staff did not provide additional project schedule details during the work session; the consent item was placed on the agenda for the June regular session.
The approval was taken as a consent-agenda item during the June 3 work session. The Board approved the motion without recorded dissent. The county clerk will include the item on the June regular session consent agenda for formal ratification if required by procedure.
