Durham County commissioners on Sept. 9 approved a comprehensive consent agenda that included multiple budget ordinance amendments, capital project changes and contract actions.
Notable items in the consent package included Budget Ordinance Amendment No.25BCC016 recognizing the $1.5 million DOE grant for the Energy Burden and Emissions Reduction Program (EBERP), capital project amendments to appropriate $3.5 million in 2022 general-obligation bond funding for Durham Technical Community College land purchases and related projects, and two Federal Aviation Administration grant offers listed in the consent materials. The minutes reference FAA Grant Offer 3-37-0056-070-2024 for $35,478,766 and an additional FAA grant referenced for $10,000,000 on behalf of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority.
The board voted unanimously to approve the consent agenda after no items were pulled for discussion. Several other consent items included smaller grant recognitions from NC DHHS for public-health programs, ARPA-funded capital project appropriations, and contract amendments for services such as ballot printing and facility testing.
Commissioners did not pull any individual consent items for separate discussion; staff will proceed with contract executions and implementation steps for the approved items.
