Parma Heights council approves routine business, liquor permit and reads ordinances

On Sept. 26, Parma Heights City Council approved an excusal for Councilwoman DeSouza, approved Sept. 12 minutes, granted a liquor permit for Yorktown Lanes, and read several ordinances and resolutions by title; motions and roll calls were recorded for each procedural item.
Parma Heights City Council conducted routine business at its Sept. 26 meeting, approving procedural motions and reading three pieces of legislation by title.
Councilman Stavole moved to excuse Councilwoman DeSouza; Councilwoman Maruschak seconded the motion and the motion carried with recorded ayes of Maruschak, Durichko, Walsh, Stavole, Haase and Council President Tom Rounds. The council then approved the Sept. 12, 2022 council meeting minutes on a motion by Councilman Stavole seconded by Councilwoman Walsh; the same six members recorded aye votes.
Clerk Barbara Allen read a liquor-permit application from Yorktown Corp. DBA Yorktown Lanes, 6218 Pearl Rd.; the police chief had no objections and council approved the permit by silent vote with no objections recorded.
On legislative items, council members moved and approved reading the following by title only: Resolution 2022-35 (authorizing an agreement for management of the Cassidy Theatre) on its second reading; Ordinance 2022-32 (amending Chapter 933, "Water") on its second of three readings; and Resolution 2022-36 (authorizing disposal of obsolete city vehicles and equipment) on its first reading. Each motion to read by title was seconded and recorded with aye votes.
The meeting concluded with a motion by Councilman Stavole, seconded by Councilwoman Walsh, to adjourn at 7:15 p.m.
The votes recorded at the meeting were procedural and did not finalize new ordinances at this session (one ordinance remained at the second of three readings; one resolution was at first reading).
