Burleson County Commissioners Court met Jan. 9, 2023 in Caldwell and unanimously approved a set of routine agenda items including the abandonment of Lakeway Court, a lease amendment for Road & Bridge Precinct 3, a series of contracts and the appointment of a precinct constable.
County Judge Keith Schroeder called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m., led the pledges to the American and Texas flags and opened the session. Pastor DeWet Steyn delivered the opening prayer.
Chief Garrett Durrenberger reported the county jail held 33 inmates—29 males and 4 females—and said there were vacancies in both the jail and dispatch staff. That update preceded the court’s consent business.
On the consent agenda, Commissioner Vincent Svec moved and Commissioner Dwayne Faust seconded approval of the December 2022 minutes and acceptance of a $1,762 donation to the Burleson Health Resource Center. The motion passed unanimously.
