Holmes said the comprehensive plan is required pursuant to KRS 100.197 at least every five years; he noted it has been seven years since the previous plan for the Franklin‑Simpson community. He outlined a timeline that would bring the plan to a Planning & Zoning public hearing on May 21, after which the court could consider adoption. Holmes said the compilation of statistics and findings is available on the city's website and that hard copies may be requested.
Judge/Executive Mason Bames and the magistrates received the overview; no formal vote on the plan occurred at this meeting. The Planning & Zoning hearing on May 21 is the next scheduled step for public review and possible action by the court.
