Fleming County Fiscal Court approves fiscal reports, appointments and dispatch hires

The Fleming County Fiscal Court met Tuesday at the Fleming County Courthouse. County Judge/Executive Larry H. Foxworthy called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
County Treasurer Kathy Dryden presented the monthly financial report ending Nov. 30, 2022, showing total funds of $4,639,655.56, including the General Fund ($1,334,219.02), ARPA Fund ($2,249,505.03) and Capital Improvement Fund ($250,373.52). The court voted unanimously to approve the treasurer's report as presented.
The court approved a series of routine fiscal actions by unanimous votes, including budget transfers, cash transfers and claims and carry-in claims reports. It also approved the October and November 2022 road maintenance reports.
On personnel and appointments, the court approved the County Judge/Executive's recommendation to appoint Todd Hickerson and John Johnson to the Extension District Board for terms effective Jan. 1, 2023, through Dec. 31, 2025. Fleming County Dispatch Director Charlotte Benton presented requests for services and recommended hiring two telecommunicators; the court approved hiring Dakota Jolly (full time) and Allie McIntyre (part time) by unanimous vote.
The court approved the Fleming County Clerk's Nov. 2022 monthly report, the County Clerk's 2023 budget, the amended 2022 budget and the County Clerk's 2023 annual order setting salaries as presented by Fritz; the vote was recorded as unanimous. The minutes indicate a donation of a firearm to Sheriff Deputy Justin Conley was approved unanimously in recognition of his service. A subsequent motion to donate a firearm to Sheriff Deputy William Hendrix was recorded in the minutes, but the transcript does not record a vote on that specific motion.
Members gave farewells to County Judge/Executive Larry H. Foxworthy and Magistrates David J. DeAtley and James Smoot, noting this was their last meeting as elected officials. The court adjourned at 9:43 a.m.
