Cheatham County commissioners approved two rezoning requests on Nov. 20, 2017 following a public hearing in which no one spoke for or against the applications.
The first approval concerned a request associated with Ryan Thomas to rezone a portion of map 25, parcel 24, from Agriculture to R-1. The Planning Commission recommended approval 7–0, and the Legislative Body recorded a roll-call approval reported in the minutes as 10 Yes, 0 No, 2 Absent. The motion as recorded referenced 9.56 acres in the motion text.
The second approval concerned properties listed by realtor Donetta Hedges of Double H Properties on Old Ridge Road (map 23 parcels 57 and 57.01, 5.59 and 2.41 acres). The Planning Commission recommended approval 7–0; the Legislative Body approved the rezoning from C-2 to C-1 by roll call (11 Yes, 0 No, 1 Absent).
Minutes show no members of the public spoke for or against either rezoning during the hearing. Planning Commission votes are recorded in the packet as unanimous recommendations for approval. The Planning Department will process the ordinance amendments and any required updates to land-use records and notify applicants of the effective administrative steps.
Next steps: Planning staff to record ordinance changes and update property records; any appeals or further review would be governed by county land-use procedures.
