Snowflake council approves resolution adopting Aug. 2 primary results

The Town of Snowflake council unanimously approved Resolution 2022-07 on Aug. 16, 2022, formally declaring the results of the Aug. 2 primary election and noting administrative timing for certificates and oath-taking.
Councilmember Cory Johnson presented the election results, which the record shows declared Byron Lewis, Greg Brimhall and Cory Johnson as elected in the primary. Staff member Katie Melser told the council that certificates of election will be effective Nov. 8, 2022, once the general election concludes, and that those elected will be sworn in and seated at the Dec. 6, 2022 council meeting.
Councilmember Joe Bjornn moved to approve Resolution 2022-07; Councilmember Lora Jones seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. The minutes record that Lynn Johnson, Kerry Ballard and JoAnne Guderian were absent for the vote.
The resolution implements the formal step of adopting primary results into the council record; the certificate effective date and the Dec. 6 swearing-in set the next administrative milestones. No additional debate or amendments were recorded. The meeting was then adjourned.
