Colfax County approves capital appropriations, wildlife-services plan and contract amendments

Colfax County commissioners approved multiple contracts and capital grants at their July 23 regular meeting, voting unanimously on a set of agreements intended to update county equipment and continue services.
Tarin presented two agreements with the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration: Capital Appropriation #23-H2936 for $50,000 to purchase, equip and replace law enforcement and emergency services dispatch repeater equipment, and Capital Appropriation #23-H2937 for $100,000 to purchase and equip a road-department maintenance truck. "The amount of the agreement was reduced to the original amount of $41,750.00" for the APHIS-WS plan, Tarin said when presenting other items. Commissioners approved the DFA appropriations by roll-call vote.
Aaron Fluhman presented a work and financial plan with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service Wildlife Services (APHIS-WS); the agreement amount was noted as $41,750.00 and was approved unanimously. The agreement is intended to cover wildlife services in the county; the board approved the plan after discussion.
Bobby LeDoux, representing Citizens for the Developmentally Disabled, Inc., requested amendments to a lease between the nonprofit and Colfax County. Commissioner Bret Wier moved to approve the amended lease agreement; the motion carried unanimously.
Danielle Avila presented an amendment to an existing independent-contractor agreement for Tai Etcheverry Pettigrew, CPA, extending the contract through the end of the fiscal year. Commissioner Bret Wier moved to approve the amendment; the motion carried by roll-call vote.
The measures were approved by unanimous roll-call votes recorded for each motion. The board did not attach conditions to the approvals at the meeting; procurement and contract details will be handled through the county manager's office and the respective vendor processes.
