Committee backs forwarding resolution to sell 7.21-acre parcel in industrial park to GT Rentals

Commissioner Chuck Stines moved to forward the sale resolution; Commissioner Dave Van Buskirk seconded the motion and all members present voted aye. The resolution authorizes the County Mayor and the County Trustee to execute a warranty deed conveying the tract upon closing.
The resolution includes an Exhibit A containing the metes-and-bounds description of the property (survey dated June 2, 2016 by Kurt M. Johnson, TN RLS #1632) that details bearings, distances and right-of-way references for Baxter Lane and Modena Road. The committee record indicates the sale was proposed by the Franklin County Industrial Development Board to support construction of an industrial building in the park.
By forwarding the measure, the committee recommended the full County Commission consider authorizing execution of the deed and closing the transaction at the proposed price. The committee meeting was chaired by Chairman Johnny Hughes and included Commissioners Chuck Stines, Eddie Clark and Dave Van Buskirk.
The full County Commission was scheduled to consider the resolution on June 19, 2017; the committee did not itself complete the sale but recommended approval to the commission.
