Commission removes Ward Lane segment from county road list and renames Bentley Lane to Serenity Lane

Claiborne County commissioners approved removing the last portion of Ward Lane from the county road list to private ownership while preserving access to a cellular tower access road, and unanimously approved changing Bentley Lane to Serenity Lane after road superintendent and 911 approval.
The Claiborne County Commission approved two road-related items on Aug. 21.
On a roll-call vote of 21-0, commissioners authorized removal of the last portion of Ward Lane from the county road list at the request of property owners (Resolution No. 2023-079). The resolution notes the property owners Jerry Lynn and Carolyn Epperson requested removal and that a cellular-tower access road off Ward Lane must continue to be maintained for access.
The commission also approved a one-reading resolution (No. 2023-083) to rename Bentley Lane to Serenity Lane. The minutes state the property owners and the road superintendent had agreed to the change and that Claiborne 911 approved the new name; the vote was 21-0.
Both actions were entered into the minutes and will be implemented in county road records and emergency-services addressing files.
