Sheriff outlines Animal Society finances and options; mayor appoints review committee

The mayor named Commissioners Randy Simpkins, Becky Spicer, Carl Buckner, Jody Britt and Mike Petty to the committee. Sheriff Eads will deliver his information to the committee for review.
The commission did not record a formal motion to adopt any specific Animal Control plan at the Feb. 21 meeting; rather, the mayor created the committee to study and report back. The appointment indicates the county will further examine the fiscal and operational implications before taking formal action.
