Commissioners approve insurance, budgets, board appointments and small appropriations

On a roll-call vote, the commission unanimously approved renewal of employee insurance with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
The commission approved RESOLUTION 0917-01 (details not narrated) and RESOLUTION 0917-02 passed on roll call with 16 Aye and 1 Pass. RESOLUTION 0917-03 passed with 10 Aye, 3 Nay and 4 Pass. RESOLUTION 0917-05 — re‑establishing the Benton‑Decatur Animal Shelter Board with five members serving four‑year terms expiring Oct. 1, 2022 — passed 14 Aye and 3 Nay.
Commissioners also combined and approved RESOLUTIONS 0917-06 through 0917-11 (budgeting small funds including a $47,617 TDOT Courthouse Improvement grant and other line items) and approved RESOLUTIONS 0917-12 (appropriating Pam Chmelik estate funds to the Animal Shelter, amended to correct the spelling), 0917-13 (filing cabinets for the County Clerk) and 0917-14 (remitting $14,069.01 in Victim Assistance Assessment fees to the Women’s Resource Assistance Program). The combined packet and the individual resolutions were approved on roll call with all present voting Aye where recorded.
Administrative approvals included September 2018 notaries, approval of a bond for Sherry Beasley in the Trustee’s Office and changing the county credit card name to Mayor Brett Lashlee. Roll-call tallies and recorded votes are part of the meeting minutes.
