Benton County commissioners on Feb. 20 filled two four-year vacancies on the county Audit Committee after a sequence of nominations and recorded votes.
Nominations for the two seats included Don Myers (nominated by Commissioner Jerry Brandon), Paul Summers (nominated by Commissioner T. Smith), Sandy Edwards (nominated by Commissioner Angie Hern) and Bob Wessells (nominated by Commissioner Ward Plant). Commissioner Jimmy Wiseman moved to cease nominations before the commission voted.
Don Myers received 11 Ayes and 4 Nays and was elected. Paul Summers also received 11 Ayes and 4 Nays and was elected. Sandy Edwards received 6 Ayes and 9 Nays; Bob Wessells received 4 Ayes and 11 Nays. The meeting minutes record the vote tallies for each nominee.
